About Tabula

TABULA is a HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) company, whose main focus is Natural Interfaces research and software product development.

TABULA was founded in 2008 by Stefano Baraldi after he completed his Doctoral Degree in Multimedia Engineering at MICC (Media Integration and Communication Center), University of Florence.
Since then the laboratory collaborated with many companies, inventing, researching and developing new ways, methods and devices to make people interact with digital media.
In particular, it prototyped and developed early multi-touch tables in 2005, interactive surfaces through gesture detection and body tracking and projection mapping engines. This know how is part of the intellectual property assets and commercially available products.

TABULA is always looking ahead at real-world applications of Natural Interfaces, analysis and customizations. Deployed projects include interactive environments for the broadcasting, medical and naval industry, museums and exhibitions as well as special digital signage solutions.
TABULA believes in “lean” ways to approach projects and product delivery and support, through a network of skilled and trusted partners and collaborators.
TABULA started from Research, created prototypes, developed products and met the Customers. Customers own the “real” need, therefore they are able to induce new questions that drive new Research. TABULA thinks this cycle just works.
